The Bochler family would like to say thank you to everyone who spent their summer vacations with us this past year! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!
The season started off with some abnormally warm & dry weather in April when we arrived. This was exactly what we needed to get our septic system installed before the opening of camp. Hooray!! We are so relieved to finally have that monumental project behind us and are eagerly looking forward to future improvements around camp! It is our intent to make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.
Our lovely weather did not stick around long and it turned out to be a wet, wet season. July 4th will forever be ingrained in our memories thanks to a wild hailstorm that blew into camp! With golfball size hail that lasted a good 20 - 30 minutes, it caused much damage to the buildings and vehicles. Fortunately, all of our guests were safely back in camp and no injuries occurred. It just goes to show you never know what Mother Nature has in store! What a crazy day!
Due to the continuous weather fronts, the fishing was definitely more challenging then previous years. Our anglers had to change their tactics to adapt to the conditions and successfully boated some great fish! The crappies came on strong again in the spring and late fall with impressive numbers going in the freezers!
Overall, we had another great year of fishing! Thanks to all who participated in logging in your catches on the record boards. It is always a lot of fun seeing the tremendous fish that Cedar is home too!! Our catches of the year are:
MUSKY - 49 1/2" Scott Ebert of WI
WALLEYE - 33" Zach Maydak of WI
SM BASS - 20" Shane Walton of KY
NORTHERN - 39" Jon Wacker of WI
